Claire - Bridgwater Memory Café

“We used to catch the train to school every day; we lived in a village just outside of Bridgwater and our school was in Street. I remember my school friend – known as Baker – who’s father owned a farm in the village. Baker didn’t see the point in going to school because he wanted to take over his father’s farm, but his father insisted. He would ride his bike from the farm to the station, catch the train with me and we would walk from Street station to school together, with him grumbling the whole way!”
